Peer Review Process

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas applies a double-blind peer-review process to evaluate the quality, originality, relevance, and scientific contribution of submitted manuscripts. The review process is designed to ensure that published articles meet appropriate academic standards and contribute to the development of Communication Studies.

Every manuscript submitted to Pustaka Dianmas undergoes an initial editorial assessment before being assigned to a Section Editor and forwarded to independent peer reviewers. Only manuscripts that meet the journal's initial requirements and fall within its focus and scope will proceed to the peer-review stage.

1. Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript is examined by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the editorial team. The initial assessment evaluates:

  1. The relevance of the manuscript to the journal's focus and scope.
  2. The originality and significance of community service.
  3. Compliance with the journal's author guidelines and manuscript requirements.
  4. The completeness of the manuscript and its essential components.
  5. Compliance with publication ethics, including originality and appropriate citation practices.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements or fall outside its scope may be rejected at this stage. Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are assigned to a Section Editor for further editorial handling.

2. Section Editor Assessment

The Section Editor evaluates the manuscript's suitability for peer review and identifies qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area and community service methodology.

The Section Editor coordinates the review process, monitors its progress, evaluates reviewers' recommendations, and provides an editorial recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editorial decision-maker.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Pustaka Dianmas employs a double-blind peer-review system in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another throughout the review process.

Each manuscript is evaluated by independent reviewers who possess relevant academic expertise. Reviewers are expected to assess the manuscript objectively, critically, and constructively.

The review considers the following aspects:

  1. Originality and Novelty: The extent to which the manuscript offers original findings, insights, or contributions to Communication Studies.
  2. Relevance: The manuscript's alignment with the journal's focus and scope and its significance to the field.
  3. Theoretical and Conceptual Framework: The appropriateness and adequacy of the theories, concepts, and scholarly literature used to support the community service.
  4. Community Service Methodology: The suitability, clarity, and rigor of the community service design, data collection procedures, analytical methods, and interpretation of evidence.
  5. Results and Discussion: The clarity of the findings, the strength of the analysis, and the relationship between the findings, community service questions, and relevant literature.
  6. Scientific and Academic Contribution: The significance and potential impact of the community service on communication scholarship, professional practice, or further community service.
  7. Conclusions and Implications: The extent to which the conclusions are supported by the findings and appropriately address the community service objectives.
  8. References and Citations: The relevance, accuracy, adequacy, and consistency of citations and references.
  9. Community Service and Publication Ethics: Compliance with ethical community service practices, proper attribution, and the responsible reporting of community service findings.

4. Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Provide a fair, objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluation of the manuscript.
  2. Submit written comments and recommendations within the time specified by the editorial team.
  3. Explain the academic strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript and suggest improvements where necessary.
  4. Avoid personal comments, discriminatory language, or criticism directed at the authors rather than the scholarly content.
  5. Inform the editor promptly if they are unable to complete the review within the required timeframe and, where appropriate, recommend alternative qualified reviewers.
  6. Disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest before accepting or continuing a review assignment.
  7. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and all information obtained during the review process.
  8. Identify substantial similarities between the manuscript and previously published or submitted works and alert the editor to potential plagiarism, redundant publication, or other ethical concerns.
  9. Refrain from using unpublished material or information obtained through peer review for personal or professional advantage.
  10. Assess whether the community service methods, analysis, and conclusions are sufficiently transparent to allow readers to evaluate the validity and credibility of the findings.

5. Editorial Decision

After receiving the reviewers' reports, the Section Editor evaluates the comments and recommendations and forwards an editorial recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editorial decision-maker.

The editorial decision may take one of the following forms:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication. Minor editorial or production adjustments may be required before publication.
  • Revisions Required: The manuscript requires revisions to address the reviewers' comments and editorial recommendations before it can be considered for acceptance. Authors must submit a revised manuscript and a response explaining how the comments have been addressed.
  • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and must be resubmitted for further evaluation. The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers or assigned to other qualified reviewers, depending on the nature of the revisions.
  • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the journal's requirements regarding originality, relevance, academic quality, methodological rigor, community service integrity, or publication ethics.

The final publication decision rests with the authorized editorial decision-maker, taking into consideration the reviewers' reports, the manuscript's scholarly merit, and the journal's editorial policies. A favorable recommendation from a reviewer does not automatically guarantee acceptance.

6. Revision and Re-evaluation

Authors receiving a revision decision must submit a revised manuscript and a point-by-point response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. If a suggestion is not adopted, the authors should provide a clear academic justification.

Revised manuscripts may be assessed by the Section Editor, the original reviewers, or other qualified reviewers, depending on the nature and extent of the revisions.

The editorial team may request additional revisions if the manuscript has not adequately addressed the substantive concerns raised during review.

7. Confidentiality and Anonymity

Manuscripts submitted to Pustaka Dianmas are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose manuscript content, review reports, editorial discussions, or the identities of authors and reviewers, except as required for the legitimate administration of the review process or applicable ethical procedures.

Authors are responsible for preparing manuscripts in a manner that supports the double-blind review process by removing identifying information from the review file where required by the journal's submission guidelines.

8. Ethical Concerns and Community Service Integrity

Reviewers and editors must remain alert to potential ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, fabricated or falsified data, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and community service conducted without appropriate ethical safeguards.

Any suspected ethical violation should be reported confidentially to the editorial team for assessment. The journal may request explanations, supporting documentation, or additional information from the authors before determining the appropriate action.

Pustaka Dianmas reserves the right to reject a manuscript or take further action when serious ethical concerns are identified, in accordance with its publication ethics policies.

9. Timeliness and Quality Assurance

Pustaka Dianmas seeks to conduct the peer-review process in a timely and professional manner while maintaining the quality and integrity of editorial assessment.

Editors monitor the progress of reviews, communicate with reviewers and authors when necessary, and take reasonable steps to prevent unnecessary delays.

Reviewers are expected to provide sufficiently detailed feedback to support editorial decisions and help authors improve the scientific quality, clarity, and reliability of their work.

10. Publication Standards

Pustaka Dianmas is committed to publishing original community service that meets appropriate standards of academic quality, methodological rigor, transparency, and community service integrity.

The peer-review process aims to help ensure that published articles make a credible contribution to Communication Studies and that community service findings are reported accurately, responsibly, and with sufficient methodological clarity for critical scholarly evaluation.

Plagiarism Checker

Plagiarism occurs when an author takes another person's idea or work and presents them as their own. It can take various forms, from literal copying to paraphrasing someone else's work without proper citation.

Turnitin is an application used to check for potential plagiarism in submitted manuscripts. This application compares the content of the manuscript with a large database that includes various sources such as journal articles, books, websites, and other students' works. Turnitin is highly useful in ensuring the originality of scholarly works and helps in detecting and preventing plagiarism.

For submitted manuscripts, the maximum similarity allowed is 20%. This means that if more than 20% of the manuscript's content matches sources in Turnitin's database, the manuscript may need to be revised to ensure all sources are properly cited and that no inadvertent plagiarism is present.

Uses of Turnitin:

  1. Plagiarism Detection: Turnitin checks the submitted text against billions of web pages, journal articles, books, and student papers to detect similarities and potential plagiarism.
  2. Promoting Originality: By providing a detailed similarity report, Turnitin helps authors understand which parts of their manuscript need to be changed or better cited, encouraging original writing.
  3. Learning and Education: Turnitin is also used as an educational tool, helping students understand the importance of writing originally and citing sources correctly. Similarity reports can be used by instructors to provide constructive feedback to students.
  4. Time-saving: Manually checking for plagiarism can be very time-consuming. Turnitin is automated and fast, allowing journal editors and instructors to check manuscripts efficiently.
  5. Reliability and Accuracy: With an extensive database and sophisticated algorithms, Turnitin provides reliable and accurate results, helping maintain academic integrity and the quality of scholarly publications.

Using Turnitin to check manuscripts before publication is a crucial step in the editorial process to ensure that the work published is original and adheres to high ethical academic standards.

Publication Ethics

This is the statement of ethics for Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas published by Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama). This statement was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and covers the code of ethics for editorial board members, reviewers and authors.

Duties of Authors

  1. Reporting Standards: Authors should present an accurate account of the original community service performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Researchers should present their results honestly and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. A manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. Manuscripts should follow the submission guidelines of the journal.
  2. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original work. The manuscript should not be submitted concurrently to more than one publication unless the editors have agreed to co-publication. Relevant previous work and publications, both by other researchers and the authors’ own, should be properly acknowledged and referenced. The primary literature should be cited where possible. Original wording taken directly from publications by other researchers should appear in quotation marks with the appropriate citations.
  3. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications: Author should not in general submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. It is also expected that the author will not publish redundant manuscripts or manuscripts describing same community service in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Multiple publications arising from a single community service project should be clearly identified as such and the primary publication should be referenced
  4. Acknowledgement of Sources: Authors should acknowledge all sources of data used in the community service and cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
  5. Authorship of the Paper: The authorship of community service publications should accurately reflect individuals’ contributions to the work and its reporting. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. Others who have made significant contribution must be listed as co-authors. In cases where major contributors are listed as authors while those who made less substantial, or purely technical, contributions to the community service or to the publication are listed in an acknowledgement section. Authors also ensure that all the authors have seen and agreed to the submitted version of the manuscript and their inclusion of names as co-authors.
  6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should clearly disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
  7. Fundamental Errors in Published Works: If the author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in the submitted manuscript, then the author should promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
  8. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: The author should clearly identify in the manuscript if the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use.

Duties of Editor

  1. Publication Decisions: Based on the review report of the editorial board, the editor can accept, reject, or request modifications to the manuscript. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision. Editors have to take responsibility for everything they publish and should have procedures and policies in place to ensure the quality of the material they publish and maintain the integrity of the published record.
  2. Review of Manuscripts: Editor must ensure that each manuscript is initially evaluated by the editor for originality. The editor should organize and use peer review fairly and wisely. Editors should explain their peer review processes in the information for authors and also indicate which parts of the journal are peer reviewed. Editor should use appropriate peer reviewers for papers that are considered for publication by selecting people with sufficient expertise and avoiding those with conflicts of interest.
  3. Fair Play: The editor must ensure that each manuscript received by the journal is reviewed for its intellectual content without regard to sex, gender, race, religion, citizenship, etc. of the authors. An important part of the responsibility to make fair and unbiased decisions is the upholding of the principle of editorial independence and integrity. Editors are in a powerful position by making decisions on publications, which makes it very important that this process is as fair and unbiased as possible.
  4. Confidentiality: The editor must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential. Editors should critically assess any potential breaches of data protection and patient confidentiality. This includes requiring properly informed consent for the actual community service presented, consent for publication where applicable.
  5. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: The editor of the Journal will not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for his own community service without written consent of the author. Editors should not be involved in decisions about papers in which they have a conflict of interest

Duties of Reviewers

  1. Confidentiality: Information regarding manuscripts submitted by authors should be kept confidential and be treated as privileged information. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
  2. Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers must ensure that authors have acknowledged all sources of data used in the community service. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. The reviewers should notify the journal immediately if they come across any irregularities, have concerns about ethical aspects of the work, are aware of substantial similarity between the manuscript and a concurrent submission to another journal or a published article, or suspect that misconduct may have occurred during either the community service or the writing and submission of the manuscript; reviewers should, however, keep their concerns confidential and not personally investigate further unless the journal asks for further information or advice.
  3. Standards of Objectivity: Review of submitted manuscripts must be done objectively and the reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. The reviewers should follow journals’ instructions on the specific feedback that is required of them and, unless there are good reasons not to. The reviewers should be constructive in their reviews and provide feedback that will help the authors to improve their manuscript. The reviewer should make clear which suggested additional investigations are essential to support claims made in the manuscript under consideration and which will just strengthen or extend the work
  4. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. In the case of double-blind review, if they suspect the identity of the author(s) notify the journal if this knowledge raises any potential conflict of interest.

Promptness: The reviewers should respond in a reasonable time-frame. The reviewers only agree to review a manuscript if they are fairly confident they can return a review within the proposed or mutually agreed time-frame, informing the journal promptly if they require an extension. In the event that a reviewer feels it is not possible for him/her to complete review of manuscript within stipulated time then this information must be communicated to the editor, so that the manuscript could be sent to another reviewer.

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Publication: 300.000.00 (IDR)

Based on the policy of the new management of the Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas, starting from the issue of Volume 5, No 1 2025, the publication fee for papers submitted to Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas (SINTA 5) is 300,000 (IDR).

Pustaka Dianmas Journal does not charge a manuscript submission fee. Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting manuscripts to the journal.

Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal Policy

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas upholds its responsibility to maintain the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record with the utmost seriousness. Changes to published articles may only be made under specific circumstances as outlined below. Pustaka Dianmas Journal places great importance on the authority of published works, and this policy follows best practices in the academic publishing community.

An Erratum is a statement by the authors of the original article that briefly describes corrections resulting from errors or omissions. Any impact on the conclusions of the paper should be clearly indicated. The corrected article remains available online; however, a notice of erratum is issued, made freely accessible to all readers, and linked to the corrected article.

A Retraction is a formal notice indicating that an article should not be regarded as part of the scientific literature. Retractions are issued if there is clear evidence that findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error, if the findings have been published elsewhere without proper referencing, permission, or justification, if the work is plagiarized, or if the work reports unethical community service. The retracted article is not removed from the online journal; instead, a notice of retraction is issued, made freely available, and linked to the retracted article. Retractions may be initiated by the authors when substantial scientific errors are discovered, or by the Editors or Publisher if considered appropriate. All retractions will indicate the reasons for the action and the party responsible for the decision. If a retraction is issued without unanimous agreement of the authors, this will also be noted. In rare and extreme cases involving legal infringement, the Publisher may redact or remove an article. Bibliographic information about the article will always be retained to preserve the scholarly record.

A Publisher’s Note is issued to notify readers that an article has been corrected after publication. This applies in cases where typographical or production errors (the responsibility of the Publisher) affect the accuracy of article metadata (such as title, authorship, or byline) or significantly impair readers’ understanding of the article. In such cases, the original article is removed and replaced with a corrected version. Publisher’s Notes are freely available to all readers. Minor errors that do not affect the integrity of metadata, scientific content, or readers’ comprehension will be corrected at the discretion of the Publisher. Authors should note that a corrected version can only replace the original article within one year after the original publication date. For articles published more than one year earlier, corrections will only be documented through a Publisher’s Note.

This policy aligns with the COPE Guidelines for Retracting Articles.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors are not permitted to withdraw submitted or published manuscripts except for compelling and justifiable reasons. Manuscript withdrawal is considered a waste of valuable resources, including the significant time and effort invested by editors, reviewers, and the publisher in processing the submission.

In the event that an author still wishes to request the withdrawal of a manuscript, the author is required to complete and submit an Article Withdrawal Form, duly signed by all authors or by the corresponding author on behalf of the author group, clearly stating the reasons for withdrawal. Authors should not assume that their manuscript has been withdrawn until they receive an official notification from the Editorial Office confirming the withdrawal.

For requests and the Article Withdrawal Form, please contact: pustakadianmas@jrl.moestopo.ac.id

It should be noted that it is considered unethical to withdraw a submitted or published manuscript from one journal if it has been accepted by another journal.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

1.    Policy Statement

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas, published by Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama), recognizes the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies to support scholarly community service, academic writing, and editorial processes.

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas permits the responsible use of AI tools provided that such use is transparent, ethically appropriate, and consistent with the principles of academic integrity, community service accountability, confidentiality, and intellectual property protection.

AI tools must not replace human scholarly judgment, critical thinking, original intellectual contributions, or the accountability of authors, editors, and reviewers. This policy applies to all parties involved in the preparation, submission, evaluation, and publication of manuscripts in Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas.

2.    Use of AI by Authors

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for appropriate purposes, including language editing, grammar correction, translation, improving readability, formatting, and other forms of editorial assistance.

AI tools may also be used to support community service activities, including data processing, coding, statistical analysis, literature discovery, and the development of visual materials, provided that their use is scientifically appropriate, transparently reported where required, and subject to meaningful human verification.

Authors must critically review, verify, and correct all AI-generated or AI-assisted content before submission. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, interpretation, and integrity of the entire manuscript, including any content produced with AI assistance.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate or falsify data, generate fictitious community service findings, manipulate evidence, invent references, misrepresent sources, or produce misleading scientific claims.

3.    Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools that contributes to the intellectual content, preparation, analysis, interpretation, or presentation of a manuscript.

The disclosure must identify the AI tool and, where available, its version; explain the purpose and scope of its use; and identify the relevant community service or manuscript activities supported by the tool.

The disclosure should be placed in a separate section entitled “Declaration of Generative AI Use”, immediately before the References section, unless a different placement is required by the journal for a specific type of use. AI use that materially affects the community service design, data analysis, or interpretation must also be described in the Methods section or another appropriate section.

Routine spelling, grammar checking, and basic language corrections that do not generate substantive intellectual content do not require disclosure.

Authors must not make inaccurate or misleading declarations about their use of AI.

Suggested Disclosure Statement

Authors may adapt the following statement to reflect their actual use of AI:

“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [name and version of AI tool] for [specific purpose]. The author(s) reviewed, verified, and edited the AI-assisted output as necessary and take full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the final manuscript.”

If no generative AI tools were used, an AI-use declaration is not required unless specifically requested by the journal.

4.    Authorship and Accountability

AI systems, chatbots, and other automated tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas.

Authorship must reflect genuine human scholarly contributions. All listed authors must satisfy the journal's authorship requirements and accept responsibility for the work.

Authors are accountable for all content submitted for publication, including AI-assisted text, interpretations, references, code, tables, and figures. The use of AI does not exempt authors from responsibility for plagiarism, copyright infringement, community service misconduct, inaccurate reporting, or other violations of publication ethics.

5.    Community Service Integrity, Accuracy, and References

Authors must ensure that all facts, arguments, citations, references, quotations, datasets, and reported findings are accurate and verifiable.

AI-generated references and bibliographic information must be independently checked against reliable scholarly sources. Fabricated references, nonexistent publications, incorrect DOIs, and misrepresented citations are unacceptable.

Generative AI output must not be presented as an authoritative scholarly source. Authors should cite the original publications, datasets, documents, or other verifiable sources supporting their claims.

AI must not be used to conceal plagiarism, manipulate similarity-checking results, generate misleading evidence, or misrepresent the originality or contribution of a manuscript.

6.    AI - Generated Images, Tables, Code, and Community Service Data

The use of AI to create or modify images, illustrations, tables, code, datasets, or other community service materials must comply with the principles of community service integrity and applicable legal and ethical requirements.

Authors must disclose such use when it materially affects the community service methods, evidence, findings, or presentation of results. Where relevant, the Methods section should explain the tool used, its role, and the procedures applied to verify the resulting material.

AI-generated or modified images must not be presented as authentic empirical evidence when they do not represent actual observations or experimental results. AI must not be used to fabricate, falsify, or deceptively alter community service data or visual evidence.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the use of AI-generated materials respects copyright, licensing conditions, privacy, consent requirements, and the rights of third parties.

7.    Use of AI by Editors

Editors may use AI-assisted tools for appropriate administrative or editorial support, provided that such use complies with the journal's confidentiality, data protection, and publication ethics requirements.

Editorial decisions must remain under the independent responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief or the designated handling editor. AI tools must not replace human evaluation of a manuscript's originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, community service integrity, relevance, or scholarly significance.

Editors must not upload confidential manuscripts, unpublished community service data, reviewer reports, or other confidential editorial communications to AI systems for the purpose of generating editorial decisions or peer-review assessments.

Any AI-assisted editorial process must be subject to meaningful human oversight and verification.

8.    Use of AI by Reviewers

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas applies a double-anonymous peer-review process and requires reviewers to maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and all related review materials.

Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, substantial manuscript excerpts, figures, tables, datasets, supplementary materials, or confidential editorial correspondence to publicly accessible or external AI systems when confidentiality, intellectual property protection, or data security cannot be assured.

AI tools must not replace reviewers' independent scholarly judgment. Reviewers remain responsible for the accuracy, fairness, relevance, and constructive nature of their comments and recommendations.

Reviewers must not use AI to generate assessments that they have not critically evaluated or that misrepresent their own expert judgment. Any permitted use of AI must comply with the journal's instructions and applicable confidentiality requirements.

9.    Confidentiality, Privacy, and Intellectual Property

All parties must protect confidential information and respect applicable privacy, data protection, copyright, and intellectual property requirements.

Authors must not disclose personal, sensitive, confidential, or restricted community service information to AI systems unless such use is lawfully authorized and adequate safeguards are in place.

Editors and reviewers must protect unpublished manuscripts and privileged information obtained through the editorial process. Information obtained through submission or peer review must not be used for personal, professional, or commercial advantage.

The use of AI does not transfer responsibility for legal compliance or ethical conduct from the individuals involved to the technology provider.

10.  Screening, Verification, and Human Oversight

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas may use appropriate automated tools to support similarity checking, reference verification, community service-integrity screening, and other editorial quality-control activities.

Automated screening results must be interpreted cautiously and reviewed by qualified human personnel. AI-detection scores alone must not be treated as conclusive evidence of misconduct or as the sole basis for rejecting a manuscript.

Editorial decisions must be based on relevant evidence, the manuscript's scholarly quality, applicable journal policies, and a fair assessment of the circumstances.

The journal reserves the right to request clarification, supporting documentation, or additional information concerning the use of AI when reasonably necessary to assess compliance with this policy.

11.  Suspected Violations and Editorial Action

Suspected violations of this policy will be assessed in accordance with Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas's Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and applicable community service-integrity principles.

Depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern, the journal may request clarification, require correction or additional disclosure, return a manuscript for revision, reject a submission, publish a correction or expression of concern, retract an article, or take other appropriate action consistent with its established procedures.

Authors and other parties concerned will be given an appropriate opportunity to respond to allegations before a final determination is made, where practicable.

The use of AI alone does not constitute misconduct. Editorial action must be based on the nature of the use, the evidence available, the applicable policy, and the impact on scholarly integrity.

12.  Policy Review and Implementation

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas will review this policy periodically to reflect developments in AI technologies, community service practices, publication ethics, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

All authors, editors, reviewers, and other relevant parties are expected to comply with this policy. By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas, authors acknowledge their responsibility to ensure that any use of AI is consistent with the journal's publication ethics requirements.

This policy should be read together with the Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement, and Peer Review Process.

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas is committed to promoting responsible innovation while safeguarding scholarly integrity, human accountability, and public trust in academic publishing.

Allegations of Research Misconduct

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas takes all allegations of community service and publication misconduct seriously. Community service and publication misconduct may include plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, image or data manipulation, citation manipulation, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, undeclared conflicts of interest, unethical community service practices, and other practices that compromise the integrity of the scholarly record.

Any allegation of misconduct concerning a submitted or published manuscript should be supported by sufficient information or evidence and submitted to the editorial office.

The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor will conduct an initial assessment of the allegation. Where further investigation is required, the journal may contact the authors, reviewers, relevant institutions, community service ethics committees, or other appropriate parties while maintaining confidentiality as far as reasonably possible.

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas follows the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling suspected community service and publication misconduct.

Depending on the nature and severity of the case, editorial action may include rejection of the manuscript, request for clarification or correction, publication of a correction or expression of concern, retraction of the article, or communication with the author's institution or other relevant authority.

Authorship Criteria

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas is committed to maintaining academic integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing. Authorship is granted to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the community service and the preparation of the manuscript.

To qualify as an author, each contributor must meet the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution: The author must have made a significant contribution to the conception or design of the community service, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of findings, or development of the community service methodology.
  2. Manuscript Preparation: The author must have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  3. Final Approval: The author must have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.
  4. Accountability: The author must agree to be accountable for their contribution to the community service and cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, and ethical aspects of the work.
  5. Author Agreement: All listed authors must approve the submitted manuscript and agree to the authorship order before submission.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial office throughout the submission, peer-review, revision, and publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have approved the manuscript and that the information provided during submission is accurate and complete.

Contributions That Do Not Qualify for Authorship

Activities such as general supervision, administrative support, funding acquisition alone, language editing, or technical assistance alone do not automatically qualify an individual for authorship. Individuals who have contributed to the community service but do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent.

Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be justified and approved by all authors concerned. Such changes are subject to editorial approval and must be supported by written confirmation from the relevant authors.

Ethical Responsibility

All authors are responsible for ensuring that their contributions are genuine and that the manuscript complies with the journal's publication ethics, community service integrity, originality, and citation requirements. Gift authorship, ghost authorship, and other forms of inappropriate authorship are not permitted.

Jurnal Pustaka Dianmas publishes original community service articles in the field of communication studies. The journal aims to disseminate community service findings that contribute to the development of communication theories, concepts, methodologies, and professional practices.

Pustaka Dianmas exclusively accepts manuscripts based on original community service. Standalone literature reviews, narrative reviews, and other manuscripts that do not report original community service findings are not accepted.

Original Community Service Articles

Original Community Service Articles present findings from empirical and original community service activities that are relevant to the field of community engagement. Manuscripts may encompass various disciplines—including economics, management, political communication, and religion—as well as other topics that align with the journal's focus and scope.

Community service articles should demonstrate a clear community service problem, relevant theoretical or conceptual foundations, appropriate community service methods, systematic presentation and analysis of data, and a discussion of findings that contributes to communication scholarship.

The journal accepts community service using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches, provided that the chosen methodology is appropriate to the community service objectives and questions.
